Weight Loss Update: Feeling Good!

26 Weeks Postpartum:

21 & 16 Weeks Postpartum:

It feels great to FINALLY feel like my old self again. Granted my skin is definitely still loose around my bellybutton, but it's certainly better than it was before and I know it will get better with time. I've increased my weights again and my arms are really starting to get more definition. I've been doing a lot of squats and leg work so I have a feeling I won't be loosing much size in my hips which is totally fine since all of my jeans fit perfectly fine. Well, I'll keep this short and sweet and leave you with my measurements and goals :)

So, Do These Come In My Size?!?

Gap just introduced their Paddington Bear collection for babies and I want it all! It is so stinking cute but of course so expensive - I mean I don't spend that much on my own clothing most of the time [ hello Vermont outlets! ]. Luckily I have some Gap Cash so I get $50 off $100 and Finn just so happens to be going up in size again [ he really needs to stop growing already! ] Anyways, here is my Paddington Bear wishlist for Finn [ the condensed version at least :) ]

Treadmill Tell-All

Joining some other bloggers and linking up with The Healthy Slice to answer some treadmill questions!
Here it goes...

1. What’s your favorite workout to do on a treadmill?
Right now I am doing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) which I love because I never get bored and boy does it get my heart racing and I'm pretty dang sweaty afterwards too!

2. How many miles, on average, do you do on the mill each week?  Since I am just doing HIIT workouts which are quick 30min workouts about 3 days a week I average maybe 9 miles a week.

3. What was the most mileage you’ve ever completed on the mill in one workout? When? Why?
Oh geeze this was a long time ago when I was trainign for the Disney Marathon in December 2009 (marathon was in January 2010) and it was a complete white out and Syracuse didn't plow the sidewalks so it was 10 miserable miles. I will never do that again, it was horrible and I was grossly sweaty in the Syracuse University gym and got yelled at for being on the treadmill for too long until I explained and then they were fine and looked at me like I was insane - which I was!

4. Do you mill at home? The gym? Both? No treadmill at home, just the gym. I would love a treadmill at home one day but our tiny house cannot accommodate that at the moment!

5. What distractions/entertainment (if any) do you use to help pass the time?
Even before when I would run 3-5 miles on the treadmill I always changed up the speeds to make it less monotonous. And I usually read something as well like trashy gossip magazines :)

6. If you have a mill at home, how old is it?
Boo, no mill at home.

7. Do you fuel any differently for a treadmill workout than an outside one?
No not really. Other than I always have a water bottle on the mill since there is somewhere to put it regardless of the miles I log whereas I only bring water with me on outside runs when I know I will be running longer than an hour.

8. Any treadmill mishaps to report? None thankfully - although I have had some close tripping encounters but no falling off and making a fool of myself at the gym thus far!

9. Do you mill at incline to compensate for not being outside?
Yes, I always have it at 1% but sometimes change it up and between 2-5% instead of changing speed.

10. Describe your perfect (if there is such an animal) treadmill conditions:
I use to go to this very nice gym (I babysat in the daycare room once a week for free membership!!) and each treadmill had their own tv AND fan - amazingly perfect plus I would have to ad 3 brand new magazines I have never read, with an ice cold water bottle and a towel that isn't scratchy. Oh and maybe looking out over the ocean - that would be nice!

Life With Finn

Yes it's true, your life does change once you have kids - shocking I know!

Short list of life as I know it now:

My space is no longer my own. Personal space, house space - Finn has taken over!

My day revolves around feedings and naps and no, not my feedings nor my naps.

I now know why my mom use to tell us as kids to never bother her while she was in the shower - it is a sacred 5 minutes.

The massive amounts of hair that has fallen out post pregnancy is now coming in gray - kids really do give you gray hair!

Oh, you want to hold my baby - I'm just going to go to get ready, eat dinner and brush my teeth, all with both hands!

Wrinkles are not just on your face, they also aper on your stomach due to massive stretching - it goes back right?

Speaking of stretching, stretch marks suck, especially when they show up after the baby is born because of massive weight loss. I read that exfoliating them works so my stomach and hips are bright red when I step out of the shower from exfoliating with my luffa - and it does work, they are almost gone!

Hh and pumping is not just like nursing. Have you ever seen an electric cow milker - yeah just like that.

Free time consists of laundry, cleaning, dishes and anything else I use to consider work.

Dressing up = nice jeans, nice sweater over nursing tank and boots.

And leggings are pants when you have no time to change before going to the grocery store.

For someone who HATES even the smallest stain my clothes this is a statement I never thought I would say and say so often: "It's just a little spit up/pee/drool on my pants/sweater/leggings/shirt, no need to change!"

Even though my life has changed immensely I have never been happier and laughed so much in my life because we were blessed with the happiest, cutest baby on earth :)

Weight Loss Update: Reaching Goals and Setting New Ones

21 weeks postpartum (excuse my face haha)

19 weeks postpartum

16 weeks postpartum

I never realized how much my body is actually changing until I look back at pictures. Although my "abs" were showing more at 19 weeks than 21 weeks (probably due to all the Christmas cookies!), my waist definitely shrunk. I kept the holiday weight off and even got down to 139 twice but I've been sitting at 140-141 for about two weeks which I am totally ok with since I expected to gain weight over the holiday.

I was a runner pre-pregnancy and through most of my pregnancy but now I've been leaning towards heavier weight lifting than ever before. It makes me feel strong and I've seen a quicker change in my body too. I've started following other moms on Instagram that are now weight lifters and their bodies are amazing. I definitely don't want to be a body builder or do bikini competitions but I would love to be leaner and have more definition. The one thing I don't want is bulky legs - as a dancer from 3-18years old I do love strong but lean legs.

One of my weight lifting mom inspirations! [source]

My new goal is to lift more but continue running and be in the best shape of my life. I want to document my transformation more and will probably do it on Instagram more than my blog so follow me there!

On another note, all of my pre-pregnancy jeans fit so I'm feeling way more normal again now that I'm back into my size 2's. Although I'm still 5-10lbs from my average pre-pregnancy weight I know my body has bounced back because my jeans fit and I don't look like a sausage in them haha
