Post Pregnancy Weight Loss & Before Pictures

When Tom and I were married October 29, 2011 I was in the best shape of my life. I was running and lifting weights and was very lean and toned and loved it! After we got married I gained a few pounds which was fine since I had lost extra weight for the wedding so I was sitting at my average weight of about 128-130 afterwards. Not many people know, but in September 2012 I miscarried and gained about 5-7 pounds as a result of eating a little too much to cope.

In November 2012 I found out I was pregnant with Finn and began the pregnancy at about 137lbs - a little bit more than I had wanted. I was one of the lucky ones who had no morning sickness and really no nausea either, but I was beyond exhausted and could barely make it to the gym once a week. I'm someone who gains weight easily if I don't work out and I gained about 15lbs in my first trimester which I was not happy about, but it is what it is. Anyways, fast forward and I gained about 45lbs total which is about 10lbs more than I wanted but I maintained my workouts throughout the rest of my pregnancy so I definitely didn't look like I gained that much.

So now it's time to loose the baby weight! I already lost 20lbs in the first two weeks and at 3 weeks post partum today I'm down to 160lbs exactly. That leaves me with about 25lbs to loose to get down to 135lbs which is probably more reasonable than 130lbs for the moment. I plan to update my weight loss and workouts once a week. I feel like my goals are fairly reasonable but I also understand that I may need to push some of my goals back as the weight might not come off as easy as it once did and that the last 10-15lbs may be harder to loose than the first 10-15lbs.

Here are my goals:
9/30 = 155
10/12 = 150
11/21 = 145
1/31 = 140
3/31 = 135

And here are my before pictures at about 162lbs and 2 weeks postpartum. It's very hard for me to post the pictures of my bare stomach since the heaviest I've ever been in my life is 145lbs and that was maybe for a month while injured in high school. I also had a bad relationship with weight and food while in college with calorie counting, restricting and starving. I've had a very healthy relationship with food for the past 3 years and I really hope to keep it that way through this weight loss no matter how hard it may get.

  1. First, I don't think I knew that we had a miscarriage the same month last year! I always think it is crazy how we never know who is actually experiencing the same things as us without our knowledge. Second, I cannot believe your stomach already went down that much after two weeks!! I started off at 139 which I usually am only about 133 ish. So I am really curious to see how things go for you since we will have similar weight goals after the baby. I do have to keep in mind that I will probably still have extra weight in places (i.e., my boobs). They are already two sizes bigger than before and who knows how big they will be once the milk comes in!
